Red face Made plans for a corner desk - input? First major project

I am planning on making this corner desk to have against my computer desk. All I have to build it are a handsaw, miter saw and that's really it. I plan to just cut things down to size. Do these plans seem sound? I am unsure about the screw/nail/glue situation. Also, for the top shelves, can I get by with 2x4 and 2x2 for the corner to allow for more shelf room?

It looks heavy to me and like disassembly later may not be an option just some things you may want to consider.I made one some years ago for my son as a Christmas gift corner fit and can broken down into three pieces for transport. It's in my photos were as my son wanted a clean top(no more shelves) you are looking in that direction.Your plans show some dados for shelving I think with your limited tools drilling holes and some shelf holders from a big box or your local hardware store is more suitable.just some thoughts.
