Question Looking for design suggestions for side and magazine table

I am in the process of starting to develop a design for constructing a table that will hold snacks, and separate drawer for pens and note pads and also have a nesting table under it. I am thinking for the snacks a enclosed rectangle box that has a lift drawer front and a sliding bottom inside that can be pulled out to retrieve snacks. The snack unit will be resting on the top of a slight oversize drawer unit which will provide room to sit drinks or a magazine on top in front of the snack unit. The drawer portion will hold pens and note pads etc. Under this table unit will be one nesting table that will be available to be pulled out separately for added surface. If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate any comments. The wood to be use will most likely be oak. Thanks all Chuck in Knoxville, TN

there are lift top coffee tables

Here's a bunch of links and images:

If you pick one we can help with the construction details.

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

Thanks for your help. This table is going to sit between my chair and my wife's chair. It will not be a coffee table. Chuck
