Here's a good project idea for you

These are called "The Most Useless Machine Ever", or "The Leave Me Alone Box".

I haven't made one yet, but I'm definitely thinking about it



There are also tutorials on how to make the mechanism on Youtube

The guy that made the first one used a servo motor from Radio Shack.
I suppose you could also gut old battery operated toys for the motor and gear box.

Here are the videos on building the mechanism.
