Dining table design ideas?
I have been saving some special wood (Brazilian rosewood) for over 35 years to build a dining room table and now after being retired from my day job, I'm hitting a designers block for a simple post and apron table sized 44" x 72" which is limited by the boards I purchased in the 1970's.
Any suggestions for design details to enhance the look of this design would be greatly appreciated. Right now, I'm thinking of a table with a slight boat end end curve and curved and beaded 4" apron.
Like I said, with the limitations of the wood available like the top pieces only finishing up at 3/4" I'm struggling with rigidity and leg/apron joints which I envision to be 3/8"tenons 3x1 1/2 long.
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated,
