chime when box lid opens?

I made a box and I would like to find some sort of switch that will make a chime or magical sound lol when the lid is opened. is that even a thing? hoping for some sort of little box with a button on the top so when the lid is opened it will let the button up and make the sound. sounds silly i know but im thinking there hast to be something out there. or if anyone has a different idea.

There are many types and styles of music boxes available to order.
Some simple and inexpensive to some very elaborate and much more expensive
Some wind-up and some battery operated.
Check these out for your box.

Take a look here http://www.nationalartcraft.com/group3.htm. You will see music boxes and a category that says Animation Accessories for full size musical movements. Here you will find mechanical levers and such to activate the music boxes, if you don't see what you want I would call them.

Do you want a music box, or do you just want a standard box to chime when opened?

Your post does not read like you want a music box.

check out greeting cards

Some greeting cards have musical greetings when you open them. You may be able to use the mechanism for your box.... ?

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

Steve Ramsey did this to make a wooden greeting card. He has a video on YouTube describing the process.

I hate signatures.

Sorry, I changed my plan a bit and just ended up putting in a music box kit from rockler with the stop pin. Thought that was a little nicer than some plastic music bix or chime. I didn't realize you could get the guts for that cheap. Thanks again!
