Greetings. I have almost finished my BBQ table extroidinaire! The project started with heart pine as the frame. After some much needed, but not quite capable assistance from an in-law I was left with having to sub some of the frame with pressure treated lumber. The tops are done and almost finished off, they look spectacular ( west system, spar varnish ) but the frame looks like crap because I have green pressure treated and heart pine runners. Unfortunately I sealed it all after it was put together with Thompsons all purpose. Does anyone have some suggestions as to how to make the colors match up more uniform? I wanted to finish the frame with some minwax polycrylic. But I dont want shiny green and shiny gold. And I dont think I can do anything since I sealed it???? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Make a piece of veneer

Use a pine 2 x 4. It can be done on a table saw. Cut into the 2 x 4 about 1/3 of the way up. Flip it over and use the same setting. Now you have 2 cuts opposite eachother with some wood still left in the middle. Just raise the saw blade and finish it off. Make the cut-off veneer 1/8" and then glue it over the nasty green stuff.
