Need Suggestions for Protective Finishes?

I am in the process of refinishing a kitchen table and chairs, and I repainted the chairs and table legs with a gloss enamel. I would like to spray something over the painted areas that would protect them from scratches.

Any recommendations?

For the surface, I stained it and was planning on using Belhan salad bowl finish oil, which was recommended by a friend. Comments on that are welcome also.

I'll attach some pics.

If you painted them with an oil base enamel, I wouldn't top coat them with anything. That paint is very durable. It will be easier to touch them up (or repaint) if and when they get scratched.

It sounds like I should have used an oil based enamel, but I think I used latex.
