Moisture and shellac on a cigar humidor

I am building a display type cigar humidor and would like to finish the exterior with shellac. However, I'm concerned that at the interfaces (door frames and glass frames) the 70% humidity from the inside might cause milkiness on the outside. Is this a real concern or am I being overly cautious?
