Finishing cedar

I just finished an Adirondack chair made of Cedar, and plan to start another one. I will be leaving these outdoors year around. What finish do you guys recommend, to help maintain the integrity of the chair?

Your most protective finish would be paint. Don't know if you wanted to hear that. Next in line if you want to see the grain, my choice would be Penofin red label. Or, don't use any finish and it will age somewhat gracefully like the women in our lives hopefully will.

It's personal choice. If it's exterior and not going to be painted I won't use anything else aside from boiled linseed oil. I built a red wood sign for Tehachapi airport out of 4x4 redwood, finished if with Linseed oil 8 years ago and aside from reoiling every 6-8 months it looks great
