Wooden Game Calls??

Anyone out there ever made any "Game Calls"? Deer,Duck,Crow,etc....A friend of mine told me about this last week and I thought I would order a kit and see how it works out.Hopefully my kit and parts will be in this weekend. It might be a good seller for the hunter out there.

Game calls

The better calls are made of tropical woods. Most of the turners I know try to use the wood with the most figure. The tropical woods seem to have the better sound.
Have fun and try to think outside the plain and simple.

We do have a game call turner or two around here. Maybe they'll show up and chime in.

Donny,
Type in 'game call' in the search window above and you will see all the threads pertaining to them, along with pics.

Don, you don't have to get the highlly figured exotics to make a good call. One of the best woods for game calls is bois d'arc. It's tough and resonates very well.

I was thinking that because don716 was thinking of selling the calls, alot of buyers are looking for bling for their buck.
