Wood Cost?

I am going to be going to look at some English Walnut that a guy has for sale and the pieces are 2-7 ft long and 5-9 inches in diameter. He njust cut the tree down and he has no idea what to charge me and i have no idea what to offer him per piece, anyone have any suggestions?

Can't help you on price, I find all of mine and don't pay for it. If it's that diameter make sure it has enough heart wood to be useful. I've seen 9" diameter logs with only a 4" heart wood. By the time you cut out the pith you don't enough to work with unless your a fan of the lighter sap wood.
Most of the time I just promise the guy a bowl from the logs that I graciously remove from his property.
