Walnut Haul

A friend of mine had a bunch of trees cut down for a new power line across his place in northern Oklahoma. Dozens of elm, mulberry, locust and at least 3 mature black walnuts. He'll burn some and let the rest rot. He told me to take what I wanted so this is the first load.

Looks like you've got plenty for turning, I have used Walnut and Elm in creating some beautiful writing instruments this past year and really pleased with them/

Thanks for sharing.

Do they rent rail-cars up there..?

...ever notice how "I'm sorry" and "I apologize" mean the same thing, unless you are at a funeral..?

Very nice haul -- what a great friend.

I looked it up, seems I could get down there and back again in less than 3 days ... nearly 60 gallons of gas wouldn't be bad, but there are tolls also

That's a great haul. Harvest all the walnut you can. It makes some great turnings.
