Sure is a nice clock! Did you turn the enclosure also or was that premade?

Does it have any chimes associated with it?

The inclosure is bought from my local woodturnig shop. no chimes, but would be nice with them, the clock has glass bothfront and back and costs about 18 can be bought at www.axminster.co.uk thats where i bought the cutter for ingraving the design.

Very nice Gus,
Very unique, kind of stately looking. I like it.

Thanks for the comments lads,
I'm working on a eggcup with a captive ring and am converting a chisel to cut the ring. hope to post it soon.
By the way it was my wife who give me the Rolly Monroe and most of the tools in my shed over the years!
you think shes trying to tell me something!

Robo,
I ground an old allen wrench to a three sided point to cut captive rings. I haven't got around to making a handle for it yet. I just grab it in a pair of vise grips. It works pretty well. I use a spindle gouge to cut most of the bead, then use the allen wrench to reach around and cut behind the bead from each side.
