Question Sweet Chestnut

I have been offered a load of sweet chestnut, can anyone tell me if it will be ok for turning.
Don't want to cut it up if it's only good for fire wood.

I've never turned it but I would sure like to. I sure wouldn't turn it down you never know whats hidden under that bark, especially around crotches and branch areas. Just make sure you seal up the ends after cutting it to blanks to prevent it from checking and splitting.
