Question square to round dimensions

This maybe a bone head question but if you start with 1 1/4" square stock what will the round dimension be? (having a brain loss moment LOL).
And is there a formula for figuring this out for different sizes of square to round?

It will be 1 1/4" unless you remove more than it takes to get the square sides just barely round. In actual use you rarely get the wood perfectly centered and it is often not perfectly straight. If nothing is off and you get it close to centered you should end up with 1 1/8" +/- 1/16 or so. Depends a little on your skill level. If it's bowed a little and you don't get it centered you should probably shoot for 1".
