spalted poplar and spalted maple

finished these up these other day... 3 poplar and 1 sugar maple goblet... first time trying a captive ring... goblet still needs a finish as does the hollow form but Im pretty satisfied with the wax finish on the poplar bowls whipe on poly would just look ridiculous on there I think... enjoy... happy turnin,
Bond

Hi Bond,
Good looking bowls, vessel and goblet. Pretty crazy wood in the goblet. I like the vessel shape, very nice.

Wow, I like the goblet! Bowls are cool too!

I've got some spalted sycamore I've been using but its always been tricky for me to A.) stabilize the blank and B.) get the really defined spalting to show on the piece. That's amazing how you got it to show up on the goblet.

Bond Try a satin finish not so shinny. I find that to shinny can look a bit kitch, sure there are pieces that any thing but a shine would not work
