Spalted maple pen

I turned this yesterday to see how the satin nickel looked and to play with the form. It feels nice in the hand but I think the look is a little out of balance.

Thanks for all the previous finishing help on here. My finishes are a huge improvement over what they were a few months ago, and I've been able to do away with any tool or sanding marks. Thanks again.

Good to hear you're getting the finish working -- it took me a while before I could get consistent results, and even now there are some woods that give me trouble (maybe they are oily or something -- next time I get one like that I'm going to try a wipe with acetone first)

Do you have a slimline dis-assembly kit? They aren't expensive, and I "remade" several of my first efforts which didn't look good once I had them assembled.
