I think there was another recent post with the same title. The tops look great!

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

So that's what spalted Hackberry looks like. Nice figure and nice tops.

That was mine with a ? behind it. My logs were fresh cut from living trees. Definitely not spalted. This looks great. Might be worth my while and try to 'age' one of the logs.

Nice job.

Lovin' that spalt! Hackberry(Palo Blanco down here) is pretty plain, but with the fungus amungus, It is one of the most beautiful woods I've seen. And I like the the tops as well. Gotta try some, As has been said...if you can get the kids to the table, the parents(and wallets) will follow! Good job!

Spalted Hackberry

I think that I hit the motherlode of spalted hackberry today. My friend has a tree trimming service with about 3 acres of downed cut up large pieces of many different types of wood. I found two 6' sections about 15" in diameter that are super spalted. Cut ine in half to see if it runs up the tree......yepper. Found a large box elder with flame and burl about 8 ft long.

Whe I can, I'll be cutting it up for sale cheap to members on here, including the man who started this thread.....

I would certainly be interested in buying a quantity when it's available. And thank you for being so generous.

Okie, I'd be interested in a smaller piece or two of each of those if you're offering them for sale.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...
