A Shaving Set

I finally got some shop time today and turned this out.
Kits are from Berea and are wrapped in Alternate White Marble from Exotic Blanks.

Wow, that looks very nice.

I have a really stupid question. What is the brush-like things on the left? No one in my home use something like that in shaving.
Sorry if the question is foolish.

You must be "young" Its a brush for when you shave with a shaving bar,( looks like a soap bar,) you get the bar warm with water, and put on your face with the brush; It shaving cream in a bar,not in a can;Mack

Fancy shaving kit you've made there! I like the choice in turning material.

I want to die quietly in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers of his car.
