Rounding the edge of a tool

I just bought a scraper. It's an inch wide with square edges. Not long after I got it, I started to try shear scraping. My success with that makes me wonder if the tool would be easier to use with rounded edges. Any thoughts on how I might accomplish that? I don't want to just go grinding away, because I suspect an uneven edge would not be good.

Are you writing about the corners of the tool? If not what edges?

I meant the edge that would rest on the tool rest when it was being used in shear scraping mode. Similar I think to the way the edges of a skew chisel are rounded.

Hopefully I did a better job of describing it in the attached sketch than I did in my original post.

I think a belt sander would work best so you can have contact along the entire length. A fine grit, light touch, as you roll it gently.
My second choice would be to clamp it in a vise and use a random orbit sander to run up and down the length... with fire grit you should be able to control the rounding easily.
I assume you will only round the bottom edges and they shouldn't need to be fully rounded like the short point of a skew. Each bottom edge rounded about the diameter of a pencil lead will be round enough to not dig into the rest. If it is not enough for you re-do and take just a little more off.
I agree it would be difficult on a 3/4 -1" grinder sliding it across and rotating and getting a smooth edge over the length.
I have rounded all of mine slightly.

not infrequently scrapers brag on about all sides being sharpened for <insert more better hype here>

would some kind of homespun holder work?

Rounding the corners would lessen drag on the tool rest.
