Red, White and Blue Pens

I'm making these pens for the Freedom Pens program. The blanks were given to me for this reason, I'm not sure if I like these blanks for making pens or not. Let me know what you think.

The top two are same pen just different views.

They certainly do look different to the usual! Not sure if I like them or not.

Basically, not knowing one end from the other(am a pencil guy). From a design standpoint what is it that ya'll are questioning? Is it the colour? The stripey-ness....or shape?BW

The blue is blue, the red is red, seems they could have inserted a white material, Corian?, in the mix. Never tried gluing Corian to wood?

Some kind of white acrylic would have been cooler, I think. I like the different shapes/contours.

Harrison, at your service!

Red, White and Blue Pens-p6050299.jpg I made about 24 of these for my son to give to his customers as July 4 as presents because that is his favorite holiday. I think your pen looks great, I also made a cigar pen from the same material.

Red, White and Blue Pens-p5150452.jpgHere are some of my earlier duck calls and are laminated with the same wood into the calls (the top left and the bottom right). The calls are also laminated with cherry and maple. No longer have the duck calls because my customer thought they were really unique and bought them.

I think I bought the wood from Hut Products

they aren't bad, but might look better, in my opinion, if it was just three laminations, one red one white & one blue. less busy...
