Ok, several things of interest perhaps. First, I just got the latest issue of the AAW magazine. There are several good articles in there. 1 all about the different types of gouges (roughing, spindle, detail, bowl) and the different profiles or grinds. They talk about appropriate grinds for the different ones and also a little show and tell on why it is so difficult to get a good cut on the transition of the inside of a bowl. Second, they have a nice article on finishing the bottom of your turnings.
Another thing I stumble upon recently (thanks to Bill Wyko and his recent post about his Beauty and the Beast post) is Woodturners America http://www.woodturnersamerica.com/
. Another place for us turners to waste time in front of the computer.
