Quaking Aspen?

Anyone turn Aspen? My body had a bunch of his along with some other hardwoods chopped by the electric company and he said I could come pillage as I please. Wondering if Aspen is worth a hoot for turning?

I'm not sure if you have the same kind of aspen in the US as we have here but I would say aspen is a bit too soft for turning (allthough quite possible). Our aspen is also notorious for wearing tools. All the leaves make the tree drink a lot of water so sand can get sucked into the wood. Over here aspen is used for making matches and sauna benches. The wood doesn't heat up so much and if you have been sitting on a red-hot resin spot on a pine bench you appriciate that.
