While I have not used it.... it is on my "to buy" list. Sounds great for pens and small bowls.

I recently missed out on a used full sized lathe with a 16" swing that only cost a little more then the PSI one. But if my mini lathe broke today, I would buy that one to replace it.

I am impressed with the 12" swing and the variable speed w/o a belt change. I have a Mercury Nova now (which is no longer made or supported) with an 8" swing and it is really under powered when I turn 4" dia turkey calls. I started out making pens in 2003 and it has made me a lot of money with game calls and pens so I guess I got my moneys worth out of my initial investment of $350.00. One good thing about the PSI is the thread and taper sizes match my present lathe. I guess I will not have a problem selling the Nova after I get the PSI. I was thinking about the variable speed smaller Jet and Grizzly 16" but the low end speed was a problem from the reviews I have read.
