Productive weekend

Hello all,

Had some fun this weekend, mine is Fri & Sat. Had the time and parts so tried what I could. Had a few failures including a couple blow outs but all in all was fairly fun -

One major lesson learned, don't try to turn mother of pearl. That didn't work out to well. I got it done (the bog oak with the white strip) but it dulled the tools in seconds.

A few of them are gifts, some are requests from friends and co-workers. Got a mix of stabilized woods, some reclaimed wood and standard turning blanks.

I like it, pearl works nicely with black. Gives a nice center of interest. I just happen to have a few scrap pieces hanging around

Wow, that's a very productive couple of days -- 10 turned and finished ... don't think I've ever managed that many in a weekend (but then I am easily distracted!)

I've been looking for a decent quality click-pen, which one is this, and how do you like it? (And where do you buy the kit?)

Amy works Mon-Fri so I have all day Friday to try and keep out of trouble...

The click is a Wall Street II (http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/202...-Platinum.aspx), I got it from Wood Crafters . It is bit pricey as far as the Wall Street line goes, about three times the price of the basic one. It is Wood Crafter's version of the Gatsby. A bit unsatisfying as the mechanism is silent, no click.

That's a beautiful set of pens! Great material choice and nice finish.
