Peppermill for a gift

My son that had recently had surgery had his follow up appt with his surgeon. I made this peppermill the night before to give to his doctor. I chose a nice piece of canary wood I had been saving since '06. It turned out nice and she was tickled pink.

Very, very nice. Love the way the grain accents the shape.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

Once again Mike you have created a gorgeous pepper mill. I too am making some for Christmas gifts this year and I will be referencing your fantastic tutorial. Great work, thanks for the inspiration.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"

I did something of the sort for my doctors and got the same reaction. In my opinion something handmade out ways something bought ten fold. she will enjoy and cherish this piece for years to come. Nice design, love that wood.

A top notch turning as always! Certainly do like the look of the wood on that, great choice.

I want to die quietly in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers of his car.

Wish my patients would bring gifts...
Oh wait, they don't like me that much!

p

...ever notice how "I'm sorry" and "I apologize" mean the same thing, unless you are at a funeral..?
