Osage Orange Hollow Form

With walnut top. The hf itself is 4" wide and 3" tall. Finished with wipe on poly. After the first piece with this wood I thought it was a fairly stable wood but this piece moved a lot. At one point while hollowing it just went wacky wobbly. I checked that it was seated in the chuck and it was right where I left it. The only thing I can figure is that there was some stress in the wood and I set it free. Luckily it still had enough meat on it that I was able to true the outside back up and continue hollowing.

Great shape and color combination.
You say the piece went wacky wobbly. Was the blank dry?
