Now I just have to get a lathe!

I've spent the last couple of evenings browsing this forum, now I have got the woodturning bug! I had use of a lathe for a couple of years around 1996-1999, ive attached a pic of some of my work from then.
I spent an hour or so raiding my parents woodpile today, found some great materials for making pens etc, i'll also keep an eye on the shingle pallets at work, found one in the shed made of oak and maple. I also have a few boxes of wood from when I worked as an arborist in the early 2000's. I just have to find them in the shed!
And I almost forgot to mention the treasures I can get from my demolition contractor friend. i.e kauri, rimu, matai etc.
The pics speak for themselves, this is just a sample of what I have for pens and other small projects. 2nd & 3rd pics are samples of the firewood that I cut up today, last one is some native demolition wood I had in the shed.

Now I just have to get that new workshop built, its just a set of plans at the moment!

Nice stuff. Make sure that you post picture of your shop build.

Those are some very nice pieces from the past...the future awaits!

"To everything...Turn! Turn! Turn!"
Adapted entirely from the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible (with the exception of the last line) and put to music by Pete Seeger in 1959.

I got a big old Teknatool lathe from one of the club members at the weekend, spent all day sorting out the garage and setting it up in one corner. Just need to get the dust collector plumbed in and solve its noise issue, drove everyone in the house batty when I used it!
In the meantime i'll do all the rough turning of all the green blocks i've been gathering up on my travels.
Will post some pics when its all set up.
