Not yin yang Platter

This 12in platter is made from Walnut, Maple, Spalted Maple, Bocote and Padauk woods. Walnut and Maple glued together with epoxy, mixed with India ink. Turned round and faced off on both sides with rim, mounted to a 6in face plate with two sided sticky tape.

Then removed faceplate, went to vacuum chuck and mounted off set to locate center for Bocote and Spalted Maple inlays

Once inlays were in place finished face of platter and reversed located center, finished bottom face of platter. Inlayed Padauk foot to raise platter 2, 1/2 inches.

That's a very interesting design. I like the woods, but I personally liked the way it looked before you added the circles. What's your finish? Thanks for sharing!

Acp, the finish i use Zinsser Bulleye Seal Coat contains no waxes and M.L Campbell's lacquer mixed 60/40 in a Preval sprayer.

Thanks for your comment, I will keep that in mind on my next one.
