new bowls

These were done using the Bowl from a board method of construction. It was fun. I haven't done these in a long time. They are Walnut and Poplar. About 11" in diameter.

"Wow" is right - both bowls are beautiful craftmanship and design

I've never heard of "a board method of construction" -- is there some place I can learn about it?

Thanks -- and again, "wow!"

Do a google search for Bowl from a board. You'll find about 5 or 6 really good tutorials.

On ebay there is a bowl shaped like yours and the guy is trying to sell it for $799.00.Check it out by typing in" segmented bowls" into ebay search.P.S. I really like yours.

***For the record*** Ive made hundreds of guitar bodies, never put one together and cant play a note.

In my area I'm asking $200 and will be extremely lucky to get that. Prices around here are why I don't do segmented work very often. I do it when I love it and then it's worth whatever I get.

Absolutely beautiful John. I must say, the 2nd is my favorite due to the unique design but they are both spectacular. Great job!

"To everything...Turn! Turn! Turn!"
Adapted entirely from the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible (with the exception of the last line) and put to music by Pete Seeger in 1959.

John those are both fantastic. I think my favorite is the 2nd one also just because it is so different than others I have seen. I guess I need to add another thing to my list.

I like it! Thats definitely on my to-do list. I've got a big stack of rimu tile battens that would be ideal.
