Needing info on drying a live edge bowl

I just turned a live edge bowl to the final thickness and was needing to know what to do with it from here?It is a Maple bowl about 1/4" thick but needs drying.Should I put some kind of finish on it or just bag it and let it dry naturally? If I put a finish on it of somekind it will still have to be sanded some when it finally dries.Right??

If it's 1/4" thick it's probably dry enough to sand right now. I don't even bother to bag a bowl that thin unless the base is noticeably thicker. Then you might have uneven drying which could cause problems. a 1/4" bowl will dry and warp in just a day or so. 3/8" takes several days.
I sand while it's on the lathe. I surface dry the wood with a hair dryer. This keeps the sandpaper from clogging. Then I pull it off and let it dry. I go back and hand sand with a finer grit and then flatten the bottom with a piece of sandpaper on my workbench.
