Need Help on Stand Height

My last child has moved out to college and I finally have the garage...and my better half is going to let me have her side also...gotta like that!

I am going to purchase the Jet 1220VS Lathe, but want to build my own stand, can some one tell me the height from the bottom of the feet to the center of the spindle?

Thank you.

Mike

That would depend on your height, and what is comfortable for you.

Others may chime in as to comfortable height for them.

There is no said number.

Right! understand that...let me try this again after reading my question I can see it was not clear...

what i want is the height from feet on the lathe bed to the center of the spindle so I can subtract this from the distance from my bent elbow to the floor and hopefully arrive at the right measurement for the stand.

Sorry for the confusion

Thanks

BTW I agree, FWIW

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

Hi Mike,
I have a Jet 1220 (not variable speed). The height on mine is 13-1/8" from table top to center of spindle.

Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should!
