Need advice on burl turning

I've got this big, honkin' piece of manzanita (thanks Rocky!)...

I'm thinkin' 'bout cutting off the "dome" and turning it separately...

Any suggestions?

...ever notice how "I'm sorry" and "I apologize" mean the same thing, unless you are at a funeral..?

Nice looking hunk o wood. Can't help with the advise other than have fun and be safe.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...
