Hey all, Well I finally got my Jet mini Saturday and have turned a whole three pens, 2 wood (cocobolo and zebrawood) and one acrylic...

All I can say is I'm hooked!!

Here is my first pen turned, Slimline with Cocobolo

My second turned pen, slimline with zebrawood

and my third turning with Acrylic, had my first blowout with this one while milling the blank .... good thing I had two of these blanks.. LOL

Comments and suggestions welcome

Thanks for looking

Very nice work!

I like the acrylic the best, for my tastes a nice color and shape.

Have a great day!
John

Cleaning my glasses will not make me look any better.
But will make what I am looking at better!

Wow, when I did my first pens I just used some old dowel I had laying around. Then it was tree sticks. Didn't do any fancy wood until I had turned about 20 practice pens. I admire the way you just jump right in with all the different types of material.

Very nice pens!

my shop time is limited any more so I mostly turn pens. A tip for turning acrylics, try a 60 or ecan 80- grit turning tool. Or seep your tools extra sharp. I personaly have never achived that level in fifty some years of practice.
