my first spalted maple bowl

this started out as a 10" blank but had that rotten white stuff so i had to keep turning to get rid of it right????
i had it pretty smooth i thought but wow there is still alot of sanding on it
but anyway here it is

I'm not a turner yet but I think its a cool bowl. I'd eat out of it.

no its dry already
it was in my dad's firewood pile
i guess i will try wipe on or spray poly

I love the shape on this one. It's a great looking bowl and I can't wait to see it with the finish on it. I bet putting on the finish will really make that spalting pop!! Great work man.

Nice work!

I've some spalted maple to work on, and the first piece was so punky, I had trouble getting a chuck to hold on to it...

Now I'm reluctant to mess with it until my turning skills improve.

...ever notice how "I'm sorry" and "I apologize" mean the same thing, unless you are at a funeral..?
