More shrooms

Was doing some production work for a while trying to get stock built up before I start all the Christmas goodies. Finally got a chance to "play" for a couple evenings, here is some of the result.

You may remember this one from an earlier post, like it better this way.

This is an apple branch stained with Minwax light oak.

Spalted maple of course

This one is just to let everyone know I can turn more than just shrooms. Maple handle for sure, poplar head I think, not sure where the wood came from.

Very nice.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

Me too, in fact I liked it so much I made another one.
The odd looking skinny mushroom beside it is an example of what happens when the skew catches and gouges the out of a nearly finished piece. I hate wasting wood. Actually ended up better than I expected. BTW, ash with a walnut base and the lamp is wormy oak.

Again, very nice stuff. I really like the lamp and the mallet is cool too. Great work.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"
