Monkey puzzle turning

I was given 3 rings of monkeypuzzle tree in september, collected them a week ago and they were all foam and a sticky sap! checked it out on the web and end grain turning a bowl the wood changes colour with the branch roots a lighter colour, question is do i rough turn it wet, will it be very sticky sap and mess up my chisels anyone any experience on this? rings are 12"-14 " by 8" deep. Bowl looked fantastic on the web

Might try boiling the wood to get rid of the stickiness.

I would wait let air dry it before attempting to turn. Would simply end seal and wait few months before attempting to turn. Will need to sharpen often once start turning.

Conifers easy to dry given time, rough turning could cause wood to check or split.
