Its great to see more kids getting into woodworking. There a couple other younger folks on here and they all post incredible work. Cant wait to see yours!!!

I'm just South of you in Grove City. Its a suburb on the SW side of Columbus. I used to live up there in that area though in Morrow county.

Welcome, Logan. Many of us learned about woodworking the same way you have- in a school shop class. Actually, it was one of the subjects I liked best!

"The more I know people, the more I like my tools."

One man's journey to build a woodshop, one rusty piece of junk at a time.

Welcome Logan. No worries about posting a lot of stuff. Many of us don't get enough time in the shop because of all the things we're in.

Logan welcome. I'm glad to see someone your age interested on this great past time. I also would like to apologize if my responses upset you, but at the time I assumed you were new to turning a d didn't want you getting hurt. People who've been doing this for years have been killed due to inattention or carelessness. I would hate for any inexperienced turner to suffer this same fate.

If I may make a suggestion? Please include punctuation in your posts. Us old farts can't keep up without it ;-).

I look forward to seeing pics of your work when you can get them posted. Continue with the questions and I/we will do our best to answer them as best we can.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

Hi Logan -- I also had a couple of years of woodworking at school when I was about your age, but handtools only and it didn't include lathe work. I didn't keep going with it.

Only started up again 3 or 4 years ago when a friend donated his old table saw, and then another friend donated his spare lathe. I'm not saying I'd be any better at it, but I wish I'd started turning decades ago!

Welcome
