A matching pair - a little twisted

was inspired to do something this week I have never done before.

A spiral twist.

Initially it was just a rush job to see how it works. Once the process was worked out the next thing was to do a better job. I showed it to someone and they said now you have to do a reverse twist to match.

So today this was number one of the pair (4 th attempt in all)

Now I did try doing a pair yesterday and this is what I ended up with

So with determination I went back to the drawing board again and this time things looked better

Left the workshop in the background so you have a quick reference to see there is no photo trickery. If you look close enough you can see the imperfections anyway

Spiral twisted somethings

Dave,
You sure are an ambitious devil. Looks like a lot of hand work. Are these to be columns of some kind? Nice work BTW.
