Maple Magic

This bowl was turned from Queensland Maple,a species endemic to Northern Australia.The fiddleback is very prominent in this piece,hope you like it as much as i do

I like it very much. Nice bowl, the grain almost stands up so much it looks like a wrinkle in the finish. Cool bowl, cool wood.

Wow! What chatoiance...we see that at times in our flame Box Elder (maple) that we harvest. Isn't it stunning?!

Adapted entirely from the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible (with the exception of the last line) and put to music by Pete Seeger in 1959.

Absolutely awesome. I have been turning for years and just started making bowls. That grain pattern is gnarly. Almost has a burl look to it. I would also like to know how you put those feet on the bottom, exceptional work!!!!!

A friend turned it for me last year, he is a very good craftsman.Will get his e-mail address if you like or google Cooroy Woodturning club(Sunshine Coast,Queensland,Australia) as i think he is the president(Mr Dennis Donnelly)Cheers Chris
