Is this maple?

This blank was given to me and I was told it is maple. We don't have much maple in my neck of the woods (literally) but it doesn't look like the little bit I have turned in the past. Any opinions?

Sure looks like Maple to me.

I think the green is more of a camera issue. It doesn't have that poplar color in person.

Thanks for all the replies, just my lack of experience I guess.

Yep, absolutely ambrosia effected maple-look at the bottom of first picture and the little pin hole in the area of brownish color is the tell tale sign-beetle hole.
