Mango Burl Plater

Here is a Mango Platter I did an is 18 inches on the widest point

A gorgeous piece. I bet the picture does not do justice to how it looks in real life.

Was this turned only or turned and carved. It looks to be somewhat oblong. Any details on the mounting you care to share?

I have a small cherry burl waiting for me to decide how to mount it for turning.

All turned an yes it was a little difficult but I used Nova 2 chuck, I did a 1/8 inch dovetail on bottom an removed it when I was done, It sucked in a lot of Danish oil when I was doing the finish
