long stem goblets

First and second try at goblets ever, poplar one 1st then the red oak. The poplar you can see light shine through red oak you can't but I didn't want to press my luck with it not being a tight grain patten.

Very good WS,
I like the poplar goblet. Captive ring on the other one is always a nice touch.

goblets

Thank's Mike I did some turning back in my H.S. Days 30 plus years ago and always wanted to give it a try once again. So when I had a chance to pick up an old Dalta V I did did some reading watched a vidieo and started turning tops, Most of the wood that I am using has been coming from pallet centers and lumber sepperating bulk lumber.

I really like the shape of that poplar one too. The grain in it really adds to the flow. Very nice!

durable finish

I showed these to a friend of mine and she would like to get a pair of the poplar to give to husband for their one year anniv. I said I would if I could come up with a finish that would not stain from wine espicilly red and could be hand washed. Is there anything out on the market that fits the bil,l I know tht most are food safe after being dryed for a week.
