Lazy Susan

Glued up enough wood to make two of these lazy Susans. Bought two ball bearing hardware pieces at the local Woodcraft store. One is 15" in diameter, the second is just over 14". Tops are made of walnut, curly cherry, and figured eucalyptus. The base is maple. Fun to make, good turning practice to try and get a flat surface. Hardware works very well and installs easy enough. 6 coats of spray lacquer on each. Bigger one is a Christmas present for my wife's kid sister. The other is for my wife. I also put rubber feet on the bottoms so they don't slide on the table.

More pics, one at a time from my iPad.
This is one of the bottoms of the base.

Second one, looks like the first, just a hair smaller.

Good looking items, & hope you put your "mark " on them for the future. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful work. I like what you can do on a lathe making these. Those are fantastic!

I sign all my turning projects with my old Sears woodturner I bought about forty years ago. Still works fine and made in USA.

Very nice. My wife wants one. I haven't made them in years and still have at least one bearing. I have one of my originals covered in paper that I use for spraying bowls and hollow vessels. I take it outside and set it on a stool. Of course I can't do that in the winter.
