Just wondering

I mentioned this on another thread and I got to wondering why it is, that most of the turners, post their projects in the woodturning section? IMHO I think that the woodturning section should be for people that are asking questions about, or are discussing woodturning. I think that the turnings should be in the project showcase. If members are not interested in turning, they may not be clicking on the woodturning section. That doesn't mean that they would not be interested in your turning projects. You are denying a lot of forum members the pleasure of viewing your gorgeous works. How about it guys? Should your turnings be posted in the Project Showcase?

Good idea. I had no idea that there was a project showcase. I'm not very computer literate and don't spend much time searching around these sites. I'll try to remember to post some things there next time.

I agree. I never really had an interest in turning until I started seeing a few pieces in the project showcase. Now the woodturning section is one of my regular reads and Iím considering getting me a lathe.

dmh makes a good point here. A woodworker who isn't exposed to what kind of projects are possible on the lathe may never experience the joy of working on a lathe because there is nothing to motivate him/her. By posting lathe work in the project showcase, it would be view by a greater number of members and would introduce a lot more people to wood turning.

Ken...you are so full of...GOOD IDEAS. That makes so much sense. If you think about it any wood project can be in the 'Project Showcase', no matter how simple it may be.

Anybody can become a woodworker, but only a Craftsmen can hide his mistakes!
