If only ...........

So amongst other things I want to open my own wood working museum. The main feature is lathes. I have about 9 already of various vintage. One is a timber framed treadle lathe.

Now I find a cast treadle lathe, but wife says no more spending.

$650

Guess its just gonna slip by, I'll keep looking when I'm more financial. Ok I'll keep looking anyway, just won't buy till I get the nod

Dave,
You're not alone. I find lots of things on the internet that the boss will never let me buy!

That's a pretty impressive piece of history right there. I hope it ends up in the hands of someone who will actually use it from time to time!

If that is $650 AU, it is almost $700 US, plus shipping ... puts it out of my league, but it looks like a beautiful piece of old equipment.

That's way cool. I want one. Of course I have no place to store it and can't afford it either. If I find one at a flea mkt for a decent price however it might end up in my living room.

This is very unusual. I have seen treadle lathe. I have not seen a treadle fretsaw, but it makes sense.

This is the first time I have seen a machine combining both.

Like the others, I would not have the room even if I had the money.

Saw a guy at a show with one of those old pedal powered scroll saws. Pretty awesome.

When he was a teenager, my brother had a treadle fret-saw. (He's 10 years older than me, so I wasn't allowed to play with it )

Hope one comes around at a fair price for you, Dave.

I reckon if I were to raise the $$$$ somehow I would use it mostly for the fret saw
