Hey Sawdust.....

As promised, here is a stopper turned from the free stock that sawdustfactory sent me. This is maple burl and is only the second or third stopper I have ever turned. I have a lot of Ruth Niles hardware though so there will definately be more to come!!

Hey sawdust, dont hate me man, I put CA on your wood!! I did pick up a bottle of GF wood turners finish to try for things like this but I need to put together some type of buffing system first.

This is also the first thing turned from my newly sharpened gouges and let me tell you, WOW, what a difference. I'm not so sure these tools were ever sharp from the factory.

Hey you guys that sell these things, roughly, what does a stopper like this sell for? This one isnt for sale, the wife allready claimed it but just wondering. I havnt sold a stopper yet.

Looks nice. Nice form for someone who's only done a couple of these. You can finish however you like, but you'll never convert me to CA ;-p.
As to price, that varies area to area. I typically sell stoppers for $20.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

Not trying to convert ya!! I actually dont plan to use CA for stoppers. I'm going to reserve that as a pen finish only. Its just the only thing I had that I could complete today. As soon as I build me a makeshift Beall system, I'm going to try the wood turners finish and a couple other things for stoppers and peppermills.

Hey Sawdust, theres one burl in the box you sent me that is kinda redish and is spalted. Its the only one in the box thats sealed. Do you happen to know what it is? It looks really cool, just curious.

You'll have to send me a pic, I had so much random stuff that I was dividing up among the boxes I have no clue who got what.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

Lol, no problem. If I can remember, I'll get a quick pic of it tomorrow and see what you think. Thanks.
