Pics still didn't load. Try using CA glue to re-attach the bark if it has loosened up.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

Pull the rest off and paint the raw edge dark brown or black. I have friend who burn the rim after pulling the bark off. I am currently trying another route, fake bark. I have thickened and colored epoxy and built it up. Hopefully later this week I will have time to carve it the way I want it. I will then probably paint it to look the way I want.
To keep from losing the bark turn it fairly fresh. If you can winter cut trees hold their bark better than summer cut. Then when it gets thin turn from the bark down. Sometimes that's against the grain so you might have to try both directions however when you turn up toward the bark it's really easy to tear it off. You can also add thin CA to the cambium layer and sometimes that will help stabilize it.
