Happy 40th buddy

He and I enjoy getting out with the cameras after wildlife. Figured I would personalize this bowl a little bit by etching in a portion of one of his favorite eagle pics he took. you guys know what a pain it is to find some carbon paper these days..to think all if it that I threw out in the past. Bowl is paper birch. Cut this tree down 2 years ago and left the stump to do as it did. I think if I had left it out in the woods another week i would not have been able to work with it. It was really soft and the shape is not what I entended. Started out with a much small opening but it kept breaking away. Ow well, he knows no different and likes it. The opening is about 7.5".

That is very sharp looking. I like the eagle in the bowl. How did you get it on there? Great snap shot of that eagle.

When it's rustic......it's rustic

Thanks guys. After the bowl was finished I traced the bird and cut through the varnish with a dremel then used black stain and revarnish.
