green Maple turning

I just purchased a green Maple slab 6" thick and want to turn some 14" bowls, will rough them with 1" plus walls any suggestions for drying.

Green Maple turning

I turned a bunch of it last year around oct and are 15" an smaller and sealed the end grain with anchor seal an just set em back on the shelf in the basement.So far I have gotten very little movement and no checking.

I seal the endgrain areas with anchor seal and put them in a paper sack. then I store them on the floor for a few weeks and then move them up to the shelf out of the bag. I still lose some. I may try what another friend does which is put paper around the outside and leave the inside open. Then put the bowls upside down on the shelf.
